ABOUT

RASHANAHAS9_ CreditVanessa Marino.JPG

Rasha Nahas is a Palestinian singer, composer, actress, and multi-instrumentalist with a sound as maverick as it is genre-defying. Rooted in classical guitar training and shaped by Haifa’s palestinian underground scene, her music fuses the raw edge of electric rock with the lyricism of folk, poetry & (trans)traditional influences.

Her debut album Desert (2021) captured her migration to Berlin, while her groundbreaking follow-up two-chapter Amrat (2023) — explored the tension between urban life and rural memory. Recorded in the Occupied Golan Heights and released on the UK label Cooking Vinyl, Amrat brought together leading voices from Palestine’s indie scene and propelled her onto international stages from Glastonbury to WOMEX, Berlin International Film Festival to world tours across South America, North Africa, Europe, USA and West Asia.

Beyond her interlingual albums, she composes for film, series, theater and dance, further expanding her creative impact & reach. In 2024, she appeared in Season 2 of We Are Lady Parts and became one of the first recipients of the Bertha Foundation’s Artivism Award, cementing her reputation as not just an artist but a voice of cultural resistance and innovation.
